The Welland Valley Amateur Radio Society (WVARS) is a small friendly club for Radio Amateurs, C.B.ers and anyone interested in radio or electronics. We meet on the third Monday of the month in Great Bowden Village Hall from 7-00pm to 9-00pm.
We welcome new members and can help anyone who is interested to obtain a licence to transmit using the amateur radio bands.
We are involved in many local events and have run amateur radio stations for local Scout groups “Jamboree on the air” and Guide groups “Thinking day on the air”. We have also helped many scouts and guides obtain their “Communications” badge. We have run several radio stations at Rupert’s View on the anniversary of the battle of Bosworth and most recently used ex-military radios during the Harborough at War event.
If you want any more information, please check out our website or if you have any questions, please send us an email.
