Main Hall
The main hall is 12m x 6m (39ft 4ins x 19ft 8ins) and has a fully sprung maple floor.
The main hall has restored Edwardian timber trusses with unusual arched shapes. We have installed high quality downlighters and uplighters to provide excellent light for all our activities. Together the timber trusses and lighting create a wonderful atmosphere for our users.
Fire Safety Capacities:
- 80 seated theatre style for speakers and presentations;
- 60 seated for meals and quiz nights.



Meeting Room
The Meeting Room is suitable for smaller groups and meetings. It is used by some local companies for interviews and corporate meetings and by some of our smaller user groups.
The room is 4.2m x 3.1m (13ft 9ins x 10ft 2ins) and the table can seat up to 10.
The Meeting Room can be accessed via the side entrance to the hall.
The use of the kitchen, which is next door to the Meeting Room, is included in the hire.


Kitchen
The kitchen is 3.7m x 2.4m (12ft 2ins x 7ft 10ins) and was refurbished in 2019 to provide a modern environment with more worktop and better storage.
The kitchen has:
- sink unit with drainer;
- an electric oven with 4 electric hotplates and hot surface warning light;
- hot water boiler to provide continuous hot water for teas and coffees;
- cutlery, crockery and glassware for 60 place settings for sit down meals plus additional mugs and plates for other larger meetings;
- serving hatch to the main hall.




Accessibility
The hall is entered directly off the footpath. The front entrance has two steps with a grab handle to the right-hand side. The side door provides a wheelchair accessible entrance and there is a ramp from the lobby into the main hall.
There is a fully equipped disabled toilet off the lobby.




Toilets
The toilets are off the main lobby and were upgraded in 2015. There is a separate disabled toilet with a baby changing unit.
Tables and chairs
The hall has 80 banquet-style chairs with 2 chair trolleys to make it easier and safer to move them around. We have 20 rectangular tables (91cm x 69cm) (3ft x 2ft 3ins), 1 medium table (122cm x 76cm) (4ft x 2ft 6ins) and 2 large tables (183cm x 76cm) (6ft x 2ft 6ins).



Sound System
The sound system is located in the main hall.
For Groups who use speakers, we can provide 2 microphones which are linked to the system so that everyone in the hall can hear the speaker clearly. We have a choice of 2 hand-held microphones or one hand-held and 1 headset microphone to suit your requirements.
For groups who play music, there are two ways to link to the system:
- Bluetooth
For those who have a play music through their smart phone, you can connect to the system using Bluetooth. - Jack Plug
For those who bring a laptop or other equipment, there is a jack plug in the lobby which will link your equipment to our system. We can supply the jack plug cable. We suggest you put your equipment on a table near the plug.

Cinema Screen
There is a high quality 2.96m x 1.58m (9ft 9ins x 5ft 2ins) OMNEX electric roll down cinema screen.

Defibrillator
A defibrillator is mounted on the side wall of the village hall. This is run and maintained by Great Bowden Parish Council.
If you need to use this unit, please follow the instructions on the cabinet, take the defibrillator unit to the cardiac arrest victim and then follow the voice instructions given by the unit itself.
