GBRT is a registered music charity based in Market Harborough whose aim is music development, appreciation and participation for all. GBRT runs five choirs and ensembles for young people and adults, two of which rehearse at Great Bowden Village Hall. The Trust also provides funding for instrumental and vocal lessons for local young people who struggle to finance them and organises an annual Junior X Factor talent competition, regular concerts in the local area and further afield and European concert tours. We are always happy to welcome new members to our ensembles and if we don’t have a space available immediately, we can add your name to a waiting list.
GBRT Carnival Drums, 1st, 3rd and 5th Tuesdays of the month in term times from 7-45 to 9-30pm at Great Bowden Village Hall.
Carnival Drums are a Brazilian style percussion group based in Market Harborough. We’re always on the look-out for new members, so if you’d like to try something new that’s great fun, really sociable and excellent exercise for the brain and body, then why not come and have a go?
All tuition provided by a highly experienced Musical Director, and no previous musical knowledge or experience is required. All instruments are provided, and you don’t need to read music as all learning is done by call and response.
The rehearsals are fast-paced and good fun, and each fortnight we leave with our bodies buzzing to a host of infectious Brazilian beats.
GBRT Youth Vocal Choir, 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month from 7-8pm at Great Bowden Village Hall
Singing songs from the West End, chart hits and traditional songs in 2- or 3-part harmony, the Youth Vocal Choir is open to anyone aged 10 to 18 who loves to sing and has bags of enthusiasm, regardless of where you live or go to school.
